This week when I read the book The Running Dream it had an affect on me. The main character, Jessica Carlisle, was a track star but then she gets in an accident and has to lose a leg. During the process she meets thsi girl named Rosa who has cerebral palsy who helps her with catching up on math. During this Jessica realizes that life is not as bad as she thinks it is and wants to help Rosa but isn't sure how. Then Jessica finds out that she can get this prostetic leg and can run again and finds a way to help Rosa. I don't want to spoil the end for you if you want to read it, but I did learn a lesson from thsi book. From this book I learned that in life there is always someone who has it worse than you do and that you have to perserver through the hard times and lift your head up.
